East Peoria, Ill. - It was a welcoming return to Lorene Ramsey Gymnasium for the ICC Volleyball team (9-8) on Friday afternoon. Taking on a Southeastern Illinois team that had a volleyball program for the first time in 20 seasons, the Cougars rolled to their eighth-consecutive victory by way of the sweep, 3-0. It still stands that the lone non-sweep win for the Cougars was a five-set win over Harper earlier this season.
The Falcons were doing their best to contend, but with an all-freshman roster up against the experienced Cougars, ICC dominated with set wins of 15, 10, and 18 points.
With minimal errors, ICC would win their second consecutive match and move to (2-1) at home in the fall.
In the neutral portion of the tri-match, Rend Lake defeated Southeastern Illinois, three sets to one.
ICC is getting ready to play Rend Lake at 6:00pm to wrap up Friday's Tri-Match.
