Fort Dodge, Iowa - Just as soon as the ninth-ranked ICC Volleyball team (6-3) had made their home debut for the fall 2021 season, they turn right around for a long road trip, just over five hours to be exact. With William Penn JV and Hawkeye on the slate for Friday, the biggest matchup of the weekend is a repeat of the spring season's third place match from the NJCAA National Tournament.
After a Friday doubleheader with the Statesmen and RedTails, respectively, a North Dakota State College of Science tilt is all that separates the Cougars from Iowa Central.
It was a classic battle between the Cougars and Tritons back on April 15th, with Iowa Central ultimately coming away victorious in five sets, with scores of 25-23, 21-25, 18-25, 26-24, 15-12.
Their meeting at the National Tournament was their lone meeting in the spring 2021 season. The matchup has not happened in regular season play since August 22nd, 2018, when the Tritons bested the Cougars three sets to one inside Ramsey Gym.
Meanwhile, ICC has not defeated Iowa Central since a 3-2 win at Parkland back on September 19th, 2014.
Friday's matches will not be broadcast. However, both of Saturday's matches can be viewed live via
TritonNation.
