Sugar Grove, Ill. - For the fourth time this season, the #19 ICC volleyball team found themselves in a marathon five-set match. For the third time within those four, they fell. With a drive up to the western suburbs of Chicago, the Cougars (7-7) took on the Waubonsee Chiefs (8-6).
ICC was able to take a commanding first set by a 25-15 score, then held on for a much closer 25-23 set two win. With the host Chiefs backed up against the wall, they would need to sweep the Cougars over the next three sets to secure the comeback win. They did, dominating (outside of a 25-21 fourth set), to secure their eighth win. ICC's loss marks their fourth consecutive, the first time such a streak has happened since early September of 2018.
The Cougars have a very short turn-around, returning home to Ramsey Gym tomorrow afternoon.
After Moraine Valley had to drop of of Friday's tri-match, the schedule narrows down to simply ICC vs. Jefferson College at 3 p.m., as opposed to the originally scheduled 3, 5, and 7pm matches.
Leaders vs. Waubonsee (L, 2-3):
Scores were 25-15, 25-23, 9-25, 21-25, 6-15
