Springfield, Ill.---The ICC men's basketball team overcame a ten-point deficit in the final five minutes of the game to get an 84-81 victory over Lincoln Land on Saturday afternoon in Cass Gym in Springfield. Jaquan Binion hit a jumper to put the Cougars up 82-81 in the final minute and then Tony Mabon, Jr. hit two free throws to secure ICC's first win in the M-WAC. LLCC had a chance to tie but their desperation heave from three-point range was amiss giving ICC the hard-fought win.
The game was a close one throughout as the score was tied 14 times with the lead changing hands 13 times during the contest. The Cougars shot 59% from the field for the game, including 7-15 from three-point range.
Zach Lewkowski had four long-range bombs, Binion added two treys and Mabon had one.
Mabon led led the way with 23 points and 3 assists as he went 9-14 from the field. Lewkowski added 18 points, nailing four three-pointers to help the Cougars' cause while Binion added 16 points and 4 assists.
Lavell McIntosh chipped in with 12 points and 5 boards. The Cougars move to 8-7 overall, 1-1 in the M-WAC.
