East Peoria, Ill. - A little bit of home cooking for the ICC men's basketball program (3-2) was in order on Thursday night. After two close wins for their first two wins of the young season, Tony Wysinger and company had the JV squad of the St. Ambrose Bees in front of them.
The Cougars had built a halftime lead of 42-25, but the Bees countered. St. Amrbose went on a 7-0 run out of the locker room, forcing the Cougars to use a timeout to regroup. That timeout would pay off. ICC returned that lead to a 15-point margin and effectively kept it there.
The Cougars went on a 17-5 run to conclude the game and came away with a 87-59 home win, making the Cougars (2-0) thus far in the confines of Ramsey Gym.
It's not even a 24 hour turnaround for ICC. The Cougars now have to hit the road down to a talented field at the Sechrest Classic, playing Three Rivers on Friday afternoon, and hosts Mineral Area on Saturday.
