Quincy, Ill. - The ICC men's basketball team (5-6) were feeling at least as good as possible going into Saturday afternoon's game with Kansas City Kansas at the John Wood Classic. Although they had lost the day prior, it was a fairly competitive stretch against the third-ranked team in the country. However, the Cougars couldn't find their way to the win column, dropping the game to the Blue Devils by a 74-65 final score. 

The Cougars battled with the Blue Devils to a 33-33 score at the halftime break. Unfortunately, it looked as if it was more of the same from Friday, as the Blue Devils charged out to a 14-5 run out of the locker room to take a 47-38 lead. 

This go around, ICC fought back, going on a 10-2 run to cut the point spread to within 49-48 roughly midway through the second half. The Cougars were unable to capitalize on open opportunities and turnovers begun to plague them en route to the loss.

The Cougars turn the page to their home court on Monday, where they are (3-0) in the 2022-23 season.
