Danville, Ill.---A tough shooting night for the #7 seed ICC men's basketball team led to a 67-45 loss to #2 seed Danville Area in the opening round of the Region 24 Tournament on Wednesday night. ICC only shot 16% in the first half which led to a 36-10 halftime score and the deficit was too much for the Cougars to overcome.
The Cougars connected on eight three-pointers (three each by
Brandon Bell and Tony Mabon, Jr.), which was good for 36% from long-range but overall ICC only shot 16-53 (30%) for the game, compared to Danville's 29-54 field goal shooting (54%). The Jaguars also held a 40-25 rebounding edge and forced ICC into 22 turnovers to help keep the guests at bay.
The men close the 2021-22 season with a 10-17 record.
