East Peoria, IL - Antonio Plomer's goal and assist led the ICC men's soccer team to a 2-0 win over Lincoln Trail on Thursday afternoon at CougarPlex Field. Plomer netted his goal early in the first half on an assist by
Eneko Casas and then Plomer assisted Giani Fink on a goal in the second half.
"First of all, we're really happy with the result as this kind of victory really boosted our morale," Plomer said. "We knew it would be a difficult game because of the dynamic that Lincoln Trail was taking the last few games, but we were superior and deserved the victory."
The win gave the Cougars their first Region 24 win of the season and moved their overall record to 4-3. The Statesmen fell to 4-2.
Next up: ICC will host Jefferson College on Sunday, September 11 at 1pm at CougarPlex Field.
