East Peoria, Ill. - The ICC men's basketball team (7-9) lost a tough, gritty game against Danville last Saturday evening. The Jaguars won 83-73 at Ramsey Gym.
The first half started off with Danville hitting three early threes and gaining an 11-2 advantage. ICC started to force turnovers and get in transition to keep the game within striking distance. The Jaguars went into the break with a 46-33 lead.
Throughout the first five minutes of the second half, the teams continued to trade bucket for bucket. Then, with about 14:50 left in the game, the Cougars kicked it up defensively, forcing Danville to a four-minute scoring drought. ICC closed the gap to a six-point deficit. Unfortunately, the Jaguars returned fire with a run of their own to close the game and regain the double-digit lead that they held at the final buzzer.
