Boone, IA - Realistically speaking, a four and a half hour bus ride in the starting hours of sunlight is not too high up the list of ways to start a weekend. However, for coach Tracy Heffren and the 12th-ranked ICC Volleyball team (21-10), it was a perfect opportunity to turn the page. After the loss at Parkland on Wednesday, there was next to no time to wallow in that result. In fact, after some schedule shifting, the Cougars would draw the nation's top-ranked team, Johnson County, as well as the previously-scheduled Moraine Valley out of Region 4. ICC nearly took down #1 in the opener, falling in a five-set battle, before rebounding and finishing day one of two at the Des Moines Area Tournament with a 3-0 sweep of the Cyclones.
