East Peoria, Ill. - The #19 Illinois Central College women's basketball team picked up a 65-48 victory over Milwaukee Area Tech in the nightcap of the Cougar Classic on Friday evening at Ramsey Gym.  Miya Webb led the way with 15 points and freshman Cora DeSutter added 14 points to move ICC's record to 2-0.  The Cougars used a solid defensive effort in taking a total of five charges in the game and limiting the Stormers to just two first quarter points.

ICC raced out to a 12-2 first quarter advantage as Webb, Paris Wilson, and Naomi Elliott all had baskets.  The lead increased to 18-4 on a Jhanel Coleman score but MATC settled in offensively and matched the Cougar scores.  DeSutter had six points in the quarter and Savannah Orgeron took two charges in the first half to anchor the defense as ICC held a 30-17 lead at intermission.

Paris Wilson opened the half with a score in transition and added a trey to make the score 35-20.  DeSutter scored on a nifty move to the hoop and minutes later Addi Swadinsky scored a layup on a nice pass from Saniya Tutt as the Cougars took a 48-29 advantage into the final stanza.  The fourth quarter saw Webb finish a tough layup in transition as the Cougars cruised to the finish.

Miya Webb was named the "I BEAT THE DEAN" Hustle Award Winner.  Other charges were taken by Saniya Tutt (2) and Naomi Elliott.  

Next up:  Sat, Nov. 11 vs. #2 Kirkwood at 2pm in Ramsey Gym.  The 12pm game will pit Danville Area against Milwaukee Area Tech.
