East Peoria, Ill. - The #11 Illinois Central College women's basketball team had a season-high 21 steals as they rolled over Augustana JV 83-26 on Wednesday night in Ramsey Gym in non-conference action.  The Cougars manufactured those steals into 37 points and placed four players in double figures in Cierra McNamee (18), Peyton Dearing (17), Miya Webb (15), and Halie Gilbert (12), and Miya Webb (12) to move their record to 16-7 overall.

ICC scored on their first ten possessions of the game as Kyleigh Block, McNamee, Naomi Elliott, and Dearing all scored to give the Cougars a 15-3 lead.  Elliott took a charge on the defensive end, Halie Gilbert hit a jumper and Webb two free throws which give the home team a 21-3 advantage.  The Vikings nailed a three-pointer and two free throws to draw within 25-8 at the end of the first quarter.

The Cougars were a bit sluggish coming out of the second quarter gates which allowed Augustana JV to cut their deficit to 27-14 but ICC answered with a run as Block scored inside (assist Dearing), Elena Redgate had an old-fashioned three-point play (assist Webb), Block hit an open jumper (assist Redgate), and then McNamee got a basket (assist Block) to put the Cougars up 36-14.  Redgate scored the final two buckets for the Cougars to take a 40-19 advantage at the half.

ICC opened the third on a 16-2 run and never looked back as Webb had nine points in the quarter, including a three-pointer and McNamee added eight to put the Cougars up 65-24.  Several players contributed in the final stanza to keep the Cougars rolling to the final margin.
