Ina, Ill. - All good things must come to an end. Unfortunately, that was the case for the 2022-2023 season for ICC men's basketball on Wednesday afternoon. The Cougars, who finish the year (11-19), were tasked with traveling to Rend Lake, the second seed in the Region 24 Tournament, although the two programs were only separated by two wins in the final region standings. A three-point shooting barrage would be the ultimate aid in the Warriors' ending the Cougars' season by a 79-67 final score. 

ICC trailed by as many as 14 points in the first half, but a charge just in time before heading into the locker room cut that deficit to just six points at the break (41-35 Rend Lake).

Out of the halftime break, the Cougars fought all the way back to within one point at 55-54 with 15:00 left in the game. Alas, that's as close as they'd get. 

Rend Lake had quite the shooting performance, ending the game at a 59% clip. However, ICC and Rend Lake both made 24 field goals. The difference - the Warriors drained 12 threes to ICC's one. 

The Warriors advance to Saturday's Region Semifinal at Parkland.
