St. Louis, MO - The ICC men's basketball team (10-3) made its first road trip of 2024 on Saturday afternoon, heading southwest to the 'Gateway of the West', battling the Archers of St. Louis. Both teams shot at a respectable clip, but the Archers were able to pull away in the second half, to the tune of an eventual 56% mark, and a 78-59 victory. The loss snaps ICC's four-game win streak. 

The Cougars got off to a solid start, taking a 10-4 lead in the game's infant minutes. From there, however, St. Louis made their first of a set of clydesdale-sized charges, going on an 18-2 run over a five minute period in the first half. Within that was a gaining of the lead that the Archers would never relinquish. Despite the big run, ICC's defense was able to keep it at a manageable margin, as St. Louis would head into the halftime break with a 35-23 lead. 

ICC was able to make some halftime adjustments, scoring the first four points of the second half. With 12 minutes to go, the Cougars go within 44-38, the closest they'd been since leading in the first half. Yet again, back came the Archers. St. Louis would eventually roar back to a 19-point lead. That margin would stand as the final score.
