Hillsboro, MO - The 15th-ranked Illinois Central College men's soccer team (5-0-1) made the long trip southwest to the campus of Jefferson College in Hillsboro, Missouri for an out-of-region battle against the Vikings. The Cougars would evenly split their attack across the match's 90 minutes, making the return bus ride back to campus with a 4-0 win.
Brandon Castro would get the scoring going in the first half, when
Adam Pike found him for the lead that ultimately, they would never surrender.
Pike, wanting to get in on the action more, would score himself, this time with
Jay Patel being the one to get it to him for a 2-0 advantage.
After a still fairly tightly contested lead at the halftime break, the Cougars began to pull away when
Yahir Meza scored in unassisted fashion to go up 3-0 at that point.
The icing on the cake came when Kinetzin Huerta subbed onto the pitch and secured a 4-0 victory with a goal of his own, off a Patel assist.
Jack Foster was in goal for another clean sheet. Through Wednesday's match, his one goal against and 0.20 goals against average are both good for fourth in the nation amongst NJCAA Division-I goalkeepers.
