#12 MSOC draws with Truman

Cougars remain unbeaten, host #3 Indian Hills next Saturday

Chicago, IL - The 12th-ranked Illinois Central College Men's Soccer team (6-0-2) has been playing quality soccer to start the fall. Saturday, they wrapped their three-game road trip with a trip up to Truman College in Chicago. A tightly contested match didn't see too many shots find the net, but the Cougars would ultimately play to a 1-1 draw with the Falcons and keep their unbeaten streak alive at eight matches.

ICC was first to the scoring column, with a pair of defenders connecting for a goal when Jonah Bijvank found Adam Pike for a 1-0 advantage just before the halftime break.

From there, the Cougars were able to contest the Falcons enough defensively to keep them away from the scoreboard all the way until the latter minutes of the match's second half, when Truman would score by way of a penalty kick.

Other than the PK, ICC's defensive efforts kept the game at just that and the 1-1 draw would end as the final score.

The Cougars have an 'appointment television' type of match coming up next Saturday, when they host the #3-ranked Indian Hills Warriors (6-0-1) in what should be quite the battle between the two unbeaten squads. ICC is looking to avenge a 7-2 loss to the Warriors last year in Ottumwa. Next Saturday's match is set for a 12PM start from the stadium at Eastside Centre.
