Champaign, IL - Lily Luczkowiak tying her career-high 26 points led the eighth-ranked Illinois Central College Women's Basketball team (16-4, 6-0) to a 77-62 road victory over #24-ranked Parkland on Saturday afternoon in Region 24 action. Luczkowiak hit 10 of 15 shots from the field to set the tone, while running mate Addy Engel added 14 points and six rebounds for the Cougars' eighth consecutive win and their 11th win in their last 12 games.

Savannah Orgeron (12 points) and Kamryn Heider (eight points) hit three key three-pointers in a pivotal third quarter for ICC, as the Cougar bench outscored their counterparts 28-6.

Luczkowiak and Engel got the Cougars on the board for an early 13-6 lead. A Heider floater and five straight points by Luczkowiak made the score 22-12 at the start of the second period as ICC's defense tightened, holding Parkland to just two points over a six-minute stretch for a 29-14 advantage. However, the Cobras closed the half on a run, cutting the Cougar lead to 34-27 at the half.

ICC managed just one field goal (a Luczkowiak layup) over the first six minutes of the third quarter, allowing Parkland to grab their first lead of the game at 37-36. Orgeron answered the run with a three-pointer from the left baseline (assist Madison Jobe) and after free throws by Addi Swadinsky, Engel had an offensive put-back for a 43-39 Cougar lead. After a Cobra layup cut their deficit to 43-41, an old-fashioned three-point play by Luczkowiak ignited a 13-3 run as Khalise Thomas hit a runner, Heider splashed in back-to-back treys, and Orgeron had two freebies which gave ICC a 56-46 advantage heading into the fourth.

Parkland started to wear down and the Cougars took advantage, as Luczkowiak had a put-back and Larissa Taylor scored inside. A Lauren Maas steal led to another Luczkowiak basket, and then Luczkowiak intercepted another pass for a full-court-length layup and a 66-48 lead. ICC stayed in control on baskets from Kaitlin White, Cora DeSutter, and Swadinsky free throws for the final margin.
