Belleville, Ill. - The #5 Illinois Central College men's soccer team tied 1-1 with Southwestern Illinois on Saturday afternoon at Blue Storm Field.
"The game was a pretty simple," head coach
Gabe Carreno said. "We possessed most of the game and looked to create opportunities and scored in the second half.
The Cougars got their goal from
Alec Benny from a
Pierrot Mourton assist in the 50th minute for a 1-0 lead.
The game kept the same tone until the 87th minute where SWIC scored off a corner kick.
ICC's record is now 7-1-3 while SWIC is 5-3-3.
The Cougars will tangle with #10 Lewis & Clark again on Tuesday to face the Trailblazers for the second time in eleven days. ICC won the first matchup 2-1.
