East Peoria, Ill. - Pierrot Mourton's goal in the 83rd minute helped the Illinois Central College men's soccer team to a resilient 3-2 victory over St. Charles (from Cottleville, MO) on Saturday afternoon at ICC CougarPlex Field.
The Cougars trailed 2-0 at halftime but shored up the defense and stayed aggressive in the second half in their season opener to earn the win.
ICC's first goal of the 2025 season came from Nathan La Roux in the 55th minute (assist Mourton) to cut the home team's deficit to 2-1.
Elias Munoz knotted the score at 2-all when he scored in the 67th minute (assist Nils Fechner).
The Cougars are now 1-0 on the young season.
