Daytona Beach, FL - Mario Bedford's goal with :45 seconds left in regulation led the #8 Illinois Central College men's soccer team to a thrilling 3-2 come from behind victory to upend #5 Daytona State on Sunday at DSC Soccer Stadium.

Daytona State scored in the 44th and 55th minutes to grab a 2-0 lead and seemingly had the game in hand until a late surge by the reslient Cougars.

ICC tied the score on two penalty kicks from Pierrot Mourton in the 60th and 68th minutes to make it 2-2. Bedford's deciding goal came on an assist from Mourton with less than a minute to play.

Goalkeeper Milo Paci had five saves in the win, which moved ICC's record to 5-1-1. Daytona State fell to 3-1-1.

The victory over DSC gave ICC a split in the Sunshine State as the Cougars lost Saturday to #3 Eastern Florida State 6-0. The  undefeated Titans lead the nation in goals (33), assists (40), and points (106) and lived up to their billing in the contest.

"This weekend was the biggest test of the season so far and we learned a lot about ourselves," coach Gabe Carreno said. "The team endured many situations and showcased great capacities to adapt after a tough loss, but a strong mentality shift heading into our second allowed us to play with more functional clarity."
