East Peoria, Ill. -
Nathan Le Roux and Elias Munoz each scored a goal to lead the #8 Illinois Central College men's soccer team to a 2-0 win over Southeastern Iowa on Saturday afternoon.
ICC struck early as Le Roux's goal found the back of the net in the first eight minutes, courtesy of an assist from
Mario Bedford.
The Cougars made the score 2-0 in the 60th minute on a counterattack as Munoz scored and was assisted by Victor Paz.
It was the first clean sheet of the season for goalkeeper
Milo Paci.
The win moves the Cougars' record to 3-0-1 and gives them momentum as they head into a big week. On Tuesday the men will host Jefferson College at 4pm (the ICC/Jeff Co women will play prior to the men at 2pm). The #8 Cougars will then head to Daytona Beach, FL for two games against Top 5 opponents - #3 Eastern Florida State (Friday) and #5 Daytona State (Saturday).
