Canton, IL - The #24 Illinois Central College men's basketball team snapped a two game losing streak on Wednesday against Spoon River College in a close game, 71-69. The Cougars are 11-4 on the season. 

The game started off fairly even, going back and forth all through the first half. The score was tied at 29 by halftime. ICC came out of the break to take the lead, 42-35, at the first media timeout. After the timeout, Spoon River went on an 11-1 run, forcing a Cougar timeout with just under 13 minutes left, down 43-46. 

The Cougars fought back, going on an 18-11 run over the next 6 minutes to take the lead, 61-57. Spoon River made a run late in the final minutes to cut the lead to 2, 70-68, with 1:05 remaining. Spoon River was forced to foul, sending Jaylen Brown to the line, giving ICC a 71-69 lead. Rickey Coleman blocked the game winning shot attempt, and the Cougars left Canton with a win. 

The Cougars play next at home against #15/#3 Danville Area on Monday, January 19, at 3 pm.
