East Peoria, IL - The #19 Illinois Central College men's basketball team rolled into the New Year continuing a three game win streak against Lewis & Clark Community College on Saturday, defeating them 82-55. The win gives the Cougars a 10-2 overall record on the season. 

The Cougars came out of the gate with a 10-0 run to start the game, forcing Lewis & Clark to call a timeout with a little over 17 minutes left in the first half. ICC led by as much as 14 points, but after a lull in scoring Lewis & Clark cut the lead to 2 by halftime, with ICC ahead 30-28. 

ICC came out of halftime firing with Peyton Hess scoring on a drive to the basket. The teams went back and forth, trading baskets for the next 10 minutes of the second half. Lewis & Clark got to within 1 point, 41-40, the closest they got to taking the lead, until back-to-back three pointers by Hess put ICC in the position to take the game. An 11-2 run extended the Cougars lead and put the game away. ICC finished strong and ended the game 82-55. 

The Cougars play next at home against #5 Parkland on Wednesday, January 7 at 7:30 pm.
