East Peoria, IL - The #19 Illinois Central College men's basketball team lost to #5 Parkland College in a close game on Wednesday, 74-76. The Cougars are now 10-3 on the season. 

The game started hot, with both teams scoring early. ICC was leading, 13-10, at the first timeout. The largest ICC lead of the game came with just over 6 minutes left in the first half, with the Cougars leading by 16. Parkland hit a three at the end of the half, cutting ICC's lead to 9, 41-32. 

Parkland's offense came out in the second half on a 13-1 run to take the lead, 45-42. The rest of the second half was back and forth action between the ranked teams, with the game coming down to the wire in the last 2 minutes. With less than 2 minutes left, ICC led, 69-66, but Parkland took the lead with back-to-back three pointers, putting them ahead, 72-66 with less than a minute left in the game. 

The Cougars were down 73-76 with 4.4 seconds remaining, and Parkland fouled, sending Javaughn Robinson to the line. Robinson, who had a double-double on the night, made the first, and intentionally missed the second. With a jump ball favoring ICC, Coach Tony Wysinger took his final timeout to set up the final play, but it wasn't enough and Parkland went home with the victory. 

The Cougars play next at Rend Lake on Saturday, January 10, at 3 pm.
