West Burlington, IA - The Illinois Central College men's basketball team lost a close game in overtime to Southeastern Community College, 100-97. The Cougars are 14-9 on the season. 

It was SE Iowa's annual Pink Out game as ICC traveled to Iowa to play the non-conference Division I opponent. SE Iowa started the game off hot as they made their first 4 baskets. ICC kept it close until SE Iowa started to pull away, leading 23-14 at the under 12 timeout.

ICC came out of the timeout on a 10-2 run, making it 25-24 with 7:15 left in the first half as SE Iowa was forced to call a timeout. SE Iowa then went on their own 12-2 run, leading 37-26 at the under 4 timeout. SE Iowa went into halftime with the lead, 44-32. 

The Cougars came out of the half and cut the lead to 57-46 with 15 minutes left in the game. Each team traded baskets, with SE Iowa leading by 10 points, 63-53, at the 12 minute mark. ICC started to come back, tying the game up at 70 with 5 minutes left in the game.

The Cougars then had their first lead of the game with a basket by Javaughn Robinson (16 pts, 10 assists). Robinson then got a steal and passed it up to Jaylen McElmurry (15 pts), putting the Cougars up 79-74 with 1:27 remaining. In the final minute ICC went 4-10 from the free throw line, giving SE Iowa a chance to tie it back up with 1.5 seconds to go, forcing overtime. 

SE Iowa went up by 6 pts early, but ICC fought back as Robinson, Jaylen Brown (21 pts), and Benjamin Goeh (16 pts) all had 3 pointers, keeping the game close until the final buzzer. However, it wasn't enough as SE Iowa converted their free throws to take the victory, 100-97. 

The Cougars play next on Wednesday night at home against Spoon River at 7:30.
