Danville, IL - The Illinois Central College men's basketball team fell short in a 96-86 loss to #7 Danville Area Community College on Wednesday. The Cougars are 15-10 overall heading into their final two regular season games. 

Danville started the game on a 9-0 run, a lead they would hold onto for the rest of the game. At the under 12 timeout, Danville led ICC, 28-10, which was their largest lead of the first half. ICC did not back down, climbing their way back to make the score 50-40 heading into halftime. 

ICC came out of the second half and got to work, with Javaughn Robinson (16 pts, 10 rebounds) making back-to-back three pointers in front of his hometown. The Cougars cut the lead to 57-54, forcing Danville to call a timeout with 17:07 left in the game. 

Danville built back up their lead, 62-54, at the under 16 timeout, and then went on a 13-4 run to the 12 minute mark. ICC kept fighting back, with Jaylen Brown (23 pts) making back-to-back three pointers and Marlon Herron (11 pts) putting up a couple baskets. But ultimately it wasn't enough, and Danville closed out the game, 96-86. 

The Cougars head to Springfield to play Lincoln Land on Saturday, February 21 at 3 pm.
