East Peoria, Ill. - The Illinois Central College women's basketball team rolled to a 111-37 victory over Kaskaskia on Sophomore & Alumni Day on Saturday at Ramsey Gym. With the win, the Cougars clinched a share of the Mid-West Athletic Conference regular season title (for the second consecutive year) and earned the #1 seed in next week's Region 24 Tourney.

ICC (27-3, 14-2) will host Lewis & Clark at 5:30 pm in the Region 24 quarterfinal round at Ramsey Gym.

The hosts were on point defensively as they forced 29 turnovers, swiped 17 steals, and won the battle of the boards (49-29). Addy Engel led in scoring (24 points) while three players recorded double-doubles in Kam Heider (first in career of 14 points, 11 assists), Maziah Shelton (11 points, 11 rebounds), and Larissa Taylor (11 points, 10 rebounds).

Other stats: Lily Luczkowiak (14 points), Ellie VanMeenen (14 points), Hannah West (13 points), Emily Dana (7 points, 5 assists), Piper Whiteman (5 rebounds, 3 points)

Thanks to the six sophomores & their families, who were recognized before the game: Kam Heider, Emily Dana, Addy Engel, Larissa Taylor, Maziah Shelton, & Lily Luczkowiak. Several alumni were recognized at halftime and all Cougar fans and players enjoyed refreshments after the game, celebrating the past and present. Also, congrats were given to the Peoria Christian 7^th & 8^th grade teams who were in attendance to be recognized for their state qualifying seasons.
