24th season at ICC
Alma mater:  University of Illinois

Tony Wysinger is in his 24th season as head coach of the Cougar men's basketball program and has long been part of Peoria’s great basketball tradition, having prepped across the river at Central High School.  During the 2021-22 season, the Cougar men's basketball team earned a big 72-66 upset win over then #1 Kirkwood in the non-conference season and battled in Region 24 play but eventually fell to Danville Area in the Region 24 tournament to finish with a 10-17 overall record.

Since taking over the program in 1998, Wysinger's Cougars have won the Mid-West Athletic Conference regular season title outright three times and have been in the region championship game six times in the last fifteen years.  Wysinger guided the Cougars to a Region XXIV title and an NJCAA National Tournament Appearance in 2001.

During Coach Wysinger’s tenure at ICC, the Cougars have established school records for wins in a season (29) and consecutive wins in a season (15) as well as having four straight 20-win seasons.  He has been named M-WAC Coach of the Year three times, Region XXIV Coach of the Year twice, and District 8 Coach of the Year once.

After completing a stellar career at the University of Illinois, he was named to the All-Century team in the Peoria area. He holds the record for most assists in one game (16) and has the best assist-to-turnover ratio in Illinois basketball history.

In addition to coaching, Wysinger serves as the assistant manager for the ICC Fitness Center.  An avid bowler, Tony has bowled an amazing total of sixty-six 300 games.  He and his wife, Kim, have two sons, Anthony Todd Wysinger II (who passed in 1995) and Cory Devon Wysinger (17).  They reside in Peoria.
