Jake Kennedy enters his third season as assistant coach for the ICC men’s golf program. Kennedy, a 2017 Henry Senachwine High School valedictorian, brings an exemplary resume to the Cougars, both from an athletic and academic viewpoint. His golf accomplishments include: four-time IHSA Golf State Qualifier, the 2016 IHSA Golf State Runner Up, over 100 documented junior golf tournament championships, and the only four-time winner of the LaSalle News Tribune High School Player of the Year (in any sport).
Jake signed to play collegiately for the NCAA Division I Purdue-Fort Wayne Mastodons. During his tenure at Fort Wayne, Kennedy earned the Purdue-Fort Wayne Academic Excellence Scholarship and was a three-time Academic All-Conference Honor Roll selection. He graduated from Purdue-Fort Wayne in 2021 with bachelor's degrees in both mathematics and secondary education.
Coach Kennedy is currently in his fifth year of teaching 6th grade math & science at Chillicothe Elementary Center. His additional responsibilities include being the high school varsity golf coach at Illinois Valley Central High School and the junior high basketball coach at Chillicothe Elementary Center. Jake also serves as the assistant tour director for The Prep Tour.
Jake currently resides in Peoria, IL.
