Hall of Fame Coach Stan Prosser, with more than 40 years of coaching experience, is in his 13th year as an assistant coach for the Illinois Central College women’s basketball team. Prosser has been head coach Karrie Redeker's right-hand man sidelines and has helped lead the team to six National Tourney appearances---2016 (2nd), 2018 (5th), 2019, 2021 (4th), 2022 (7th), and 2025 (8th)---and a 311-86 overall record for the Cougar Blue and Gold. In addition to player development, he assists with scouting, game planning, and recruiting.
His specialty is helping the Cougar post players thrive, both in the paint and on the boards as has been responsible for helping produce NJCAA All-Americans in forwards Chanta Wright (2014), Destiny Ramsey (2015 & 2016), Jemia Carpenter (2016), Cierra McNamee (2023), and Lily Luczkowiak (2025).
Previously at Eureka, Manito-Forman, and Midwest Central (Manito) high schools, Prosser coached boys and girls' basketball as well as volleyball, cross country and track since 1980. A Villa Grove High School basketball star, Prosser graduated in 1975 and moved on to Eureka College. There he continued his basketball legacy eventually entering their Hall of Fame in 1991. Prosser was an assistant coach on Eureka College 1993-94 NAIA (D-2) National Championship men's basketball team that also was inducted into their Hall of Fame.
Prosser was inducted in May of 2024 into the Illinois Basketball Coaches' Association Hall of Fame as a career coach for his dedication to young people in the game of basketball.
Now retired from teaching, Prosser and wife, Jill, live in Goodfield and have three grown children: Chelsea, who played for Coach Redeker at Parkland College; Jordan, who played at Bradley; and Josh, who participated on the ISU track team.
