3rd season at ICC
Alma mater: Illinois Central College & Texas State
Cougar alum Jodie (Young) Sauder enters her third season on the bench for the Illinois Central College volleyball program, coaching alongside her sister, head coach Tracy Heffren. While at ICC, Jodie played for the legendary Karen Guthmiller in 1985-87, garnering 2nd Team All-American honors and playing on the 1985 ICC team that placed third at nationals in 1987. She then went on to play at Texas State for two more seasons.
Jodie is now a special education teacher's aide at Roanoke-Benson District 60, and also serves as the head volleyball coach. She and her husband, Jeff, have four children, Wade, Taylor, Macie, and Paige. The family ties with the ICC volleyball program run deep as Wade was a student assistant and Taylor played under Sue Sinclair while Paige played two years under Tracy Heffren.
