7th season at Illinois Central College
Alma mater: Bradley University
Jon Davis begins his seventh season alongside head coach Tony Wysinger for the Cougars' men's basketball program. Davis, a retired firefighter, is originally from Chicago, IL where he was a multi-sport athlete at Hirsch Metro High School and lettered in basketball, bowling, and tennis. He continued his academic career at Bradley University, earning his bachelor's degree in psychology.
His passion for the game led him to begin his coaching career, where he has coached both boys and girls in his time on the sidelines. He has traveled the country working as a staff member for the Gus Macker 3-on-3 basketball tournaments and worked his way up to become an event manager of the tournament.
In 1998 he started as an assistant coach at Peoria High School with an emphasis on player development and found his true passion. In 2003 he was forced to step away from the game he loved for family reasons, but he continued to stay connected to the basketball community. He joined Wysginer's staff in 2019 and made an immediate impact with his enthusiasm for the game and for mentoring young men, both on and off the court.
Coach Davis resides in Peoria with his wife, Jennifer. They have two daughters, Jada and Jazmine.
