20th season at Illinois Central College

Assistant Coach Kathy Holzhauer enters her 20th season with the Cougars alongside head coach Heather Doty. Bringing over two decades of experience and dedication to the game, Holzhauer specializes in catcher and outfielder development. As a former catcher herself, Holzhauer understands firsthand how best to collaborate and communicate with the pitching staff.

During her tenure, Coach Holzhauer has helped the Cougars make eleven World Series' appearances, including the 2025 season. In that same year, the Cougar staff was honored as the Region 24 Coaching Staff of the Year. Known for her attention to detail and ability to connect with the athletes, Holzhauer remains a vital asset to the program's continued success.

A native of Washington, Illinois, Holzhauer caught for the 1989 WCHS team that finished third at the IHSA State Finals. That squad went 32-2 and was later inducted into the WCHS Athletics' Hall of Fame.

Outside of coaching, Holzhauer enjoys time with her nieces and nephews. She and her husband, Roger, have been married since 1994 and have two dogs. Together, they have owned and operated Team Works by Holzhauer, Inc. in Washington since 2023.
