Tony Wysinger is in his 26th season as head coach of the Cougar men's basketball program and has long been part of Peoria’s great basketball tradition, having prepped across the river at Central High School.

In 2024-25, ICC finished with an 11-20 record, including a 76-71 win over (RV) St. Louis and a 76-74 victory over Danville Area. The Cougars had six players from the squad play move on to play at four-year schools, including Michael Womer (Culver-Stockton), Payton Cook and Cody Marcinko (Blackburn), Rickey Woods III (Governors State Univeristy), and Isaiah Payne and Azarion Richardson (William Woods).

Since taking over the program in 1998, Wysinger's Cougars have won the Mid-West Athletic Conference regular season title outright three times and have been in the region championship game six times. He guided the Cougars to a Region XXIV title and an NJCAA National Tournament Appearance in 2001.

For the Illini, he holds the record for most assists in one game (16) and has the best assist-to-turnover ratio in Illinois basketball history. Wysinger prepped at Peoria High School where he led the Lions to a second-place finish at the 1983 State Tournament.

An avid bowler, Coach Wysinger has bowled a total of an amazing sixty-eight 300 games.
