East Peoria, Ill. - The ICC men's basketball program (1-2) found their way to the win column for the first time this season with a 77-67 win over Olivet Nazarene University's JV squad on Thursday evening.

ICC started the off the game hot by pushing in transition and finishing around the rim. The Cougars got an early 27-17 lead, but the Tigers would counter with a run of their own. Olivet cut the lead to 27-23 by being aggressive and getting to the free throw line. ICC's defense went on to hold the Tigers to just 25% from the field for the first half and obtain a 37-30 lead at the break. 

Both teams came out swinging in the second half and Olivet Nazarene was able to keep the game within striking distance. Both teams shot above 45% from the field in the second half and a combined 22 free throws were attempted. With five minutes left in the game, the Cougars were able to force a few live ball turnovers that led to three dunks to regain momentum and close out the game.
