Normal, Ill.---The bats for the ICC baseball team went cold on Friday evening as the Cougars dropped a doubleheader at Heartland by scores of 9-1 and 7-1 in M-WAC action at the Corn Crib. Heartland moves to 18-6 overall and 12-0 in the M-WAC while ICC is 5-8 overall and 2-4 in the M-WAC.
Game 1:
The Cougars got down early as Heartland took a 3-0 lead in the bottom of the first inning and made it 5-0 in the fifth. ICC scratched a run across in the top of the 6th but could get no closer.
Travis Lutz took the loss for ICC; no other stats were available.
Game 2:
ICC went up 1-0 in the second inning as
Evan Pogioli was hit by a pitch and scored on a
Chase Ulrich double but that was all the offense the Cougars could muster. Heartland scored one run in the 3rd inning and then six in the fourth.
Colin Bauer was tagged with the loss.
