Rockford, IL - The ICC volleyball team has high hopes for the 2022 season as they open in Rockford, IL at the McHenry County Invitational today at 12pm.
The Cougars had a solid season a year ago, finishing with a 28-15 record and have been working hard since practices started August 1st. Seven veterans return to this year's lineup and are flanked by eight freshmen who will vie for playing time for fourth-year head coach
Tracy Heffren.
"We like what we've seen from the group so far," Heffren said. "Our veterans have provided solid leadership and the newcomers are finding their way. We're excited to compete this weekend in Rockford."
After a 2021 schedule that saw an overabundance of home games, the Cougars will become road warriors this season with only six regular season home dates on the schedule. Their first action in Ramsey Gym will come in two home Triangulars on August 26-27.
