Normal, Ill. - The drive may have been substantially shorter for coach Sean Kennedy and the ICC men's golf team, but the competition was at just a high of a level for the Heartland 36 at Illinois State University's Weibring Golf Club on Monday. Ultimately, the Cougars had another solid showing as a team, finishing in second place behind MWAC foe Parkland. 

The individuals were right up with what they brought to the links at Highland. Peyton Woods (4th), Quinn Cox (6th), and Hunter Ficken (9th) all finished within the Top 10. Add Brock Taylor (16th) and Brady Gruden (19th) to individuals within the Top 20 as well. Woods came the closest to breaking 70 with a first-round 71, which would wind up as the lowest ICC round throughout the day.
