Tucson, AZ - The 15th-ranked Illinois Central College Women's Basketball team (2-2, 0-0) lost to #12 Pima (3-1), 90-77, on Thursday evening. The Cougars held a 39-37 lead at the half, but the Aztecs erupted for a 31-point third quarter (while ICC only scored 19 points) to gain the upper hand and get the win. The Cougars will play one final game in Arizona on Friday night, as they battle the Chandler-Gilbert Coyotes at 7PM Central Time. 

Larissa Taylor and Addy Engel scored on layups to get ICC started and then Kaitlin White, Savannah Orgeron, and Kamryn Heider all dialed in from long distance to give the Cougars a 14-8 lead. Pima got their running game going and cranked up the defense, however, to grab a 20-16 lead after one quarter. 

Free throws by Cora DeSutter and two baskets by Lily Luczkowiak got the Cougars going back in the right direction, and a three-pointer by White gave ICC a 25-24 lead at the 6:45 mark. Orgeron and Madison Jobe nailed back-to-back treys (assists Heider) to give ICC a 32-28 advantage and eventually, the Cougars a 39-37 lead at the intermission. 

White bagged another three-ball to start the third (assist Taylor) and another trey by Orgeron tied the score at 48-all midway through the third. The Cougars added a Luczkowiak score to keep pace, but the Aztecs closed the quarter on a 20-10 run for a 68-58 advantage. 

ICC started the fourth quarter shooting 0-8 from the field, allowing Pima to go on an 8-0 run to open their lead to 76-58. The Cougars fought back with a White three-pointer and layup (assist Heider), DeSutter trey, and four free throws by Luczkowiak (eventually 7 of 8 for the game) to close the gap to 82-70, but the Aztecs kept on the attack for the final 13-point margin.
