Cedar Rapids, IA - The eighth-seeded Illinois Central College Volleyball team (32-15) went down to the wire with 11th-seeded Kansas City Kansas (27-8) on Friday night in the NJCAA National Tournament's Third Place Quarterfinal Round. After trailing 2-1 in sets like the morning match against Iowa Central, the Cougars were able to force a fifth set by winning the fourth, 25-15. Alas, in a back-and-forth nail-biting finale, the Blue Devils ended ICC's season with a narrow 15-13 fifth set win. The Cougars' 32-win season comes to an end with the program still sitting as three-time defending District Champions with subsequently three consecutive National Tournament appearances.
