Benton Harbor, MI - The 18th-ranked Illinois Central College Women's Basketball team (5-2) hit the century mark for the second consecutive game, toppling the Lake Michigan Redhawks (1-4) 100-62 on Saturday afternoon. It was the first back-to-back 100-point games for the Couagrs since December 4th & 11th, 2021, and the most points in a game since scoring 116 on November 6th, 2021. ICC had 29 assists and shot 63% from the field (including 8-19 from three-point range).
Cora DeSutter had nine first quarter points and
Addy Engel and
Lily Luczkowiak four points each as ICC took a 24-11 lead.
Addy Engel had six points in the second quarter to keep ICC ahead and
Savannah Orgeron added five points.
Khalise Thomas had a breakaway layup and
Gracie Heckert scored just before the halftime buzzer to give ICC a 49-27 lead at the break.
Luczkowiak scored on a reverse layup by way of a set play to open the half, and DeSutter added six points in the paint.
Kamryn Heider got hot from long range, nailing two three-pointers along with an
Addi Swadinsky layup to help the Cougars to an 80-42 lead at the end of three.
Madison Jobe tickle the twine for two treys in the fourth, and
Emily Dana hit a floater to help the Cougars reach the century mark.
Swadinsky set a new career-high with nine assists, as all 13 players reached the scoring column.
