Belleville, Ill. - As busy a day as Wednesday was for Illinois Central College Athletics, each of the three playing teams were all in the metro St. Louis area. For the ICC Baseball team (3-4), it was a game at the Blue Storm of Southwestern Illinois. The hosts got off to a quick start, and although the Cougars did their best to try and chip away, SWIC had already gotten enough of an advantage, eventually coming away with a 12-3 win over ICC. 

The big inning came right away, as the Blue Storm put up a crooked five-spot in the bottom of the first. In fact, they would score in each of the first four innings to have a 9-2 lead over ICC to that point of the game. A Jacob Castleman sacrifice fly and Kyle Mack RBI double put the Cougars on the scoreboard. Southwestern Illinois continued to pull away with some small ball, as a double and home run for the Blue Storm were their only extra base hits of the game. After Griffin Roesch had lined an RBI single into right field for a third run for ICC, but the dagger came when SWIC launched a three-run home run in the bottom half to set the aforementioned final score.
