East Peoria, Ill. - Three Illinois Central College baseball players,
Micah McCoy,
Ryan Brucker, and
Wyatt Jaeck garnered post-season honors as announced by Region 24 and the Mid-West Athletic Conference recently.
McCoy, a freshman third baseman from Washington High School, earned All-Region 24 honors, was 1st Team All M-WAC, and named the M-WAC Freshman of the Year. McCoy leads the Cougars with a .429 batting average and has 88 RBI on the season. He has belted 19 homers and has 22 doubles. Micah is the son of Misti and Josh McCoy and is majoring in business.
Brucker, a redshirt sophomore infielder from Princeton High School, was named 2nd Team All M-WAC. Brucker is hitting .379 with 51 RBI on the season and has hit two triples along with 22 doubles. Ryan is the son of Tony and Kim Brucker and is majoring in communications.
Jaeck, also a redshirt sophomore, hails from Arbor View High School (Las Vegas, NV) and was tabbed 2nd Team All M-WAC. The 6'9 right-hander has a 4-4 overall record with 52 strikeouts in 51 innings pitched. Wyatt is the son of Anett & Tim Jaeck and is majoring in architecture.
The trio helped lead the Illinois Central College baseball team to the Region 24 Championship over John Wood this past weekend at Thome Field.
The Cougars will play next on Thursday, May 14 against Heartland at 12:00 pm at the Corn Crib in Normal in the opening round of the Central District Tournament. A full schedule and link to the tournament website appears below.
