Senatobia, Miss. - The Illinois Central College baseball team (4-6) wasn't quite able to ride the positive vibes from an 8-7 nine-inning victory over the Northwest Mississippi Rangers (8-3) when the two met for games two and three of the series on Saturday afternoon. This go-around, the Rangers were able to silent what had been a potent Cougars offense, taking the twinbill by scores of 8-1 and 6-0. 

GAME ONE | NORTHWEST MISSISSIPPI 8, ICC COUGARS 1
ICC got on the board first by way of a Riley McCallister RBI sac fly in the second inning, but that wold be the only run the Cougars got in the board for the day. Now, that's not to say there weren't hits - there were six of them by the end of the opener, including a multi-hit game. The dagger, however, was a seven-run fourth inning from the Rangers to set the 8-1 final score. From there, both pitching staffs took over and no runs went up on the scoreboard the rest of the way.

GAME TWO | NORTHWEST MISSISSIPPI 6, ICC COUGARS 0
Once again, the Cougar bats were able to get some hits on the board, but were unable to push a run across, facing just one Rangers pitcher over the entire seven innings. ICC's offensive highlight for this one was the top of the third, when Nick Piazza, Luke Doty, and Ashton Horchem hit back-to-back-to-back singles to start the frame. Alas, a double play and strikeout would end the inning without a blemish in the run column.
