Rantoul, Ill. - The Illinois Central College baseball team (19-31, 14-14) had a location change for their series finale with the (RV) Parkland Cobras (33-12, 21-7). Recent weather forced the third and fourth games away from PC Baseball Field and to the Rantoul Family Sports Complex. The Cougars were ultimately unable to hold on to a 1-1 tie in the opener before falling 8-1. In the finale, ICC got on the scoreboard first, but the Cobras surged ahead with unanswered scoring to take an 11-1 game in five.
GAME ONE | (RV) PARKLAND 8, ICC COUGARS 1
Parkland would get its first run in the bottom of the first by way of a passed ball. Meanwhile, ICC would be retired in each of the game's first 10 plate appearances.
Alas, the Cougars eventually broke through in the top of the fourth, when
Bryce Bishop took the first pitch of his at bat over the right field fence to tie the game at 1-1.
Perhaps the home run sparked further changes to the scoreboard. However, it would not be in ICC's favor. The Cobras would respond with a four-run fourth and a two-run fifth to surge ahead by a 7-1 score, and would also add a run of insurance in the bottom of the sixth to set the final score.
The Cougars' best offensive chance came in the top of the fifth,
Tyler Bishop doubles,
Kannon Kleine walked, and
Riley McCallister singled to load the bases, bringing the game-tying run to the plate. However, a pair of strikeouts would follow to strand the three runners.
COUGAR HITTING

GAME TWO | (RV) PARKLAND 11, ICC COUGARS 1 (5 INN.)
In the second game of the day,
Ashton Horchem said welcome to game two with an 0-2 triple out to right field, and
Bryce Bishop would bring him in on an RBI sacrifice fly on the very next plate appearance, but that effectively would be it for the Cougars, as Parkland would score 11 unanswered runs the rest of the game.
Bryce Bishop drew a walk and stole a base in the fourth, but that would be the only baserunning the Cougars were able to get against the Cobras.
