East Peoria, Ill. - The solar eclipse wasn't the only thing that brought excitement to Thome Field on Monday as the Illinois Cental College softball team plated a total of 43 runs in their sweep of John Wood by scores of 28-0 and 15-0 in Region 24 action.  The wins moves ICC's overall record to 9-9, and 3-3 in Region 24.

GAME 1 | ICC 28, JOHN WOOD 0 (5 inn.)
Shylar Bose had 7 RBI on the day and got three of those in the first inning of the opener as she blasted a three-run homer to left field to get ICC on the board.  Zoe Eeten and Hanna Evans then smacked back-to-back doubles and Gracie White had an RBI single as the Cougars raced out to a 7-0 lead.

The Cougars scratched another run in the top of the second and the ICC defense and pitching kept the Trailblazers off balance.  And then the flood gates opened in the bottom of the third, as the Cougars scored twenty runs (yes, 20) in the frame.

Alyssa Tudor had the hot bat as she led off the second inning with a solo shot to center field.  Courtney Campbell drew a walk and then later stole home to put the Cougars up 4-0.  After Williamson reached on an error, Linder had an RBI single as ICC went up 5-0.

Evans and Alyssa Creamer singled, followed by a Hall RBI to push the home team's advantage to 6-0.  Tudor came up to the plate for the second time in the inning, this time smacking a two-RBI double that scored Linder and Creamer.  The Cougars pushed two more runs across on a JWCC error to make the score 10-0.
