Peoria, IL - Former Illinois Central College women's basketball player, Jazmine Stubblefield, was named Alumnus of the Decade at the ICC Educational Foundation Banquet on Tuesday evening at the Civic Center.
Stubblefield, who grew up in O'Fallon, Illinois, played at ICC from 2013-15 where she started all 64 games at point guard and helped the Cougars to a 56-8 overall record. After earning her degree from ICC, Jazmine transferred to the University of Montevallo in Alabama where she played basketball and earned her bachelor's degree in biology with a minor in chemistry. She continued her education at Lipscomb University, graduating summa cum laude with a master's degree in biomolecular science and a concentration in cancer biology.
Jazmine went on to earn her Doctor of Dental Surgery at Meharry Medical College in 2024, finishing second in her class and receiving multiple honors, including the National Health Service Corps Scholarship and the Dental Health Public Service Award. Now Dr. Stubblefield, Jazmine is currently completing her pediatric dentistry certificate at Yale University.
Her passion for helping others extends beyond academics through community health initiatives in Jamaica, Guatemala, and across the United States. She has volunteered with programs such as Give Kids a Smile Day, Hygiene for the Homeless, and Get Out and Love Science.
Dr. Stubblefield has eight more months at Yale and then will be seeking permanent employment in dentistry in the fall of 2026.
