East Peoria, Ill - East Peoria, Ill. - The Illinois Central College women's basketball team played three games on Saturday as they hosted twenty teams in their 12th annual jamboree at Ramsey Gym and the CougarPlex.

"We had a great day of basketball," coach Karrie Redeker said.  "Our players got to all play on the same team and compete against someone else which allowed us to see their potential as a unit. When our kids weren't playing, they kept score and made sandwiches for officials and four-year coaches. Their unselfishness and service helped us run a a first-class event."

In addition to hosting teams from four different states (Illinois, Indiana, Missouri, & Michigan), the jamboree served as a recruiting opportunity as nearly 25 four-year college coaches were in attendance. Schools represented were:

Division I:  Bradley, Indiana State, SIU-Edwardsville, Valparaiso (2), Western Illinois, Wisconsin-Milwuakee (2)
Division II:  McKendree (2), Roosevelt (2), University of Indianapolis
Division III: Elmhurst, Eureka, Wheaton
NAIA:  Brescia (2), College of Calumet, Olivet, St. Mary of the Woods (2) 

After games concluded, the Cougars and their families had a "Meet & Eat" potluck to kick-off the season.

Per NJCAA rules, only individual stats can be reported from pre-season competitions. Unofficial stats appear below; points from free throws were not tallied in the individual points due to modified scoring rules for the jamboree.
