East Peoria, Ill. - The Illinois Central College softball team celebrated Sophomore Day with a sweep of Lincoln Land, winning 10-2 and 7-0 in Region 24 action on a beautiful afternoon at Thome Field on Thursday.

The Cougars took Game 1 in six innings as Kayleigh Harr (2 doubles) and Courtney Campbell (home run) combined for six RBI and Broghan Hall shut down the Logger bats. Game 2 was much of the same as Emily Compton shut out LLCC and Zoe Eeten, Reagan Linder, Nivarra Oredina, and Marlee Brown each had RBIs in the win.

ICC is now 25-20 with one regular season doubleheader to play as they host John Wood at Thome Field on Friday on Inclusion Day. Lincoln Land dropped to 17-23.  

GAME 1: ICC 10, Lincoln Land 2 (6 inn.) 
The Cougars raced out to a 5-0 lead in the second inning and added two runs in the fifth and three runs in the sixth for the win.

Zoe Eeten got things started in the second with a double, followed by a Graci Guenther walk and then an RBI single by Courtney Campbell. A base hit by Kelsey Bartels loaded the bases, setting up a bases-clearing double by Kayleigh Harr.  Bailey Herrick's RBI single to left field made it 5-0.

LLCC scored a run in the top of the fourth on two singles and an error to draw to within 5-1 but the Cougars added two runs in the fifth on a two-run bomb by Campbell. 

Lincoln Land added one run in the sixth and but the Cougars ended the game in the bottom half on two singles (Bartels and Cassidee Bauer), a walk to Harr, and an Olivia Strawn double.

Broghan Hall got the win, giving up just one earned run with three strikeouts.

GAME 2: ICC 7, Lincoln Land 0
After a scoreless first two innings, Nivarra Oredina had the first of her two triples in the third and scored on a Logger error. LLCC had another error that allowed Olivia Strawn to reach second and Kayleigh Harr to first. Zoe Eeten then sent a 1-1 pitch to center for a two-RBI double and a 3-0 Cougar lead. 

Courtney Campbell led off the fourth by reaching on an error and scored on a Marlee Brown double. Reagan Linder followed with a single and then Oredina smacked her second triple to give ICC a 5-0 advantage. Pinch runner Morgan Kessler then raced home on a passed ball for a 6-0 lead. 

The final run was scored on a Gracie Guenther single and three walks for the final run of the day. 

Emily Compton scored the win, fanning seven Loggers in the shutout.
