Plymouth, IN - The sixth-ranked Illinois Central College Men's Golf Team is over at Swan Lake Resort preparing for the program's third consecutive trip to Nationals. Five different Cougars tee off at varying parts of the 11:00 AM hour on Tuesday, May 20th.
Vibes were already looking up in the early portions of the schedule, with Coach Sean Kennedy's squad winning their first three tournaments.
It was a very successful fall as well, with ICC winning five fall events, led by the MWAC Conference Championship.
That was spring-boarded into four more wins in the spring season, and two additional events that saw second place finishes.
Over the course of the spring season, the Cougars also brought in four individual medalist honors, with
Brock Taylor,
Trey Boecker, and
Peyton Woods (x2) all finding themselves atop the leaderboard at some point.
After a third place finish at the Region 24 Tournament secured ICC's bid to Nationals, the Cougars are anxious to get to a course which they've played on before, even outside of the Nationals bids. This fall, ICC partook in the NJCAA National Preview, which, not ironically, was also at Swan Lake Resort.
The Cougars finished the NJCAA National Preview in fourth place, with three individuals (
Quinn Cox,
Trey Boecker,
DJ Norman) in the Top 10.
